Cindy Levin, PhD – Clinical Director
Before founding ClarityPath with Peter and Iain, Cindy spent 15 years becoming an accomplished clinical psychologist with a strong research background. Working largely from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective, Cindy focuses on fostering collaboration as the basis for her therapeutic relationships with clients.
From 2006 through 2009, Cindy served as Program Director for the Foundations of Recovery Program, at the U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs’ VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). Affiliated with the Stanford University School of Medicine, VAPAHCS is a teaching hospital with three in-patient facilities and six out-patient facilities across northern California. Foundations of Recovery is a 28-day residential program for patients diagnosed with substance abuse disorders. Cindy’s responsibilities included the daily operation of the program as well as supervising all of its clinical aspects.
In the decade prior to her holding this position, Cindy served in a series of clinical staff roles with progressively more responsibility at VAPAHCS and with other institutions, including as a Staff Psychologist, at Kaiser Permanente’s Chronic Pain Management Program in San Francisco, and as a Therapist for the Florida Board of Corrections and at Bellevue Hospital’s Dual Diagnosis Unit in New York City.
In 2003, Cindy was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship by the Department of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine and the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. In 2007, the American Psychological Association’s Psychology of Addictive Behaviors periodical published Cindy’s research, Coping Strategies Moderate the relationship between Self-Efficacy and Functioning 1- and 5-Years After Substance Use Disorder Treatment.
Cindy holds PhD and MS degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, where she studied with Mark and Linda Sobell. Cindy did Master’s work in clinical psychology at New York University, and holds a BA in Psychology and Biology from Indiana University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (Division 50, Addictive Behaviors) the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy, and is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, holding California License #PSY20195.
Peter K. Loeb, Jr. – President/CEO
Over Peter’s 28 year career, he has worked in interactive media and technology development, financial services, and energy. Peter’s interest in founding ClarityPath grew out of his long experience as a close family relative of substance abuse treatment patients.
Working at the leading edge of interactive media development during the advent of multi-media computing and consumer online services, Peter held Vice President and General Manager positions at Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) and SEGA, and in product management for book publisher MacMillan’s new media unit. He later served as a Senior Vice President at eBay auction house, AuctionDrop, and as CEO at venture-backed music companies BivWak Digital Music and Tambourine. He was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Benchmark Capital.
In the energy industry, Peter served as a Vice President at leading solar power integrator, Regrid Power. Hired by the founders to create scalable management processes company-wide and to develop strategic alternatives for the company, his efforts contributed to Regrid’s acquisition by Real Goods Solar (NASDAQ:RSOL) in 2008. Peter was also responsible for Regrid’s marketing and residential sales groups, doubling their sales performance during his tenure.
In the financial services industry, Peter’s experience includes service to both U.S. and European based companies, advising and transacting in a range of asset classes. During the 1980′s, Peter held institutional equity sales positions with Shearson Lehman Brothers and Italian investment bank Societa’ Partecipazioni Finanziarie’ in New York and Milan, Italy. More recently, Peter brokered replacement properties in 1031 exchanges for commercial real estate investors, and developed new tenant-in-common transaction structures for real estate investment banks Meridian Realty Investments and Capital Real Estate. He has held FINRA/NASD Series 7, 22, and 63 securities licenses, and a California Real Estate license. Peter served as a Board Director of Blaine County, Idaho’s Sun Valley Economic Development Corporation.
Iain D. Crabb – CFO
Before founding ClarityPath, Iain served as VP, South Bay Operations for Real Goods Solar (NASDAQ: RSOL), overseeing more than 3MW of photovoltaic solar projects and a team of 45 employees. He was also a key executive at Regrid Power, a solar integrator acquired by Real Goods Solar. As Regrid’s Vice President of Finance, he led the finance, accounting and business planning departments, and helped the company grow from $3M to $15M in revenues in less than three years.
During his time in the solar industry Iain also served on the board of directors of the Silicon Valley chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), including serving as its Treasurer, and later as President. Prior to joining Regrid Power, Iain served for 8 years at Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) in financial management and planning positions in support of Cisco’s manufacturing and engineering divisions.
Iain holds a BA degree in Business Management / Economics with a concentration in accounting from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
